Doreen started her showbiz career at the tender age of 8 in front of 20,000 people with none other than Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Not willing to share the limelight, Doreen and Miss Ross parted ways immediately after the performance.

 

Doreen, a New York University Theater major, has been a SAG-AFTRA  member since 1978.

In 2013 she published her first book, Confessions of a Working Girl or How to Get Laid (Off), available on Amazon. Or the trunk of her car.

 

Doreen holds the honor of being the first female inducted into the Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame in 2015. In celebration of that honor, she began producing an annual all female comedy show called The Ladies Room, sponsored by female-owned businesses.

Her SNL-like late night TV show, Rhode Bytes with Doreen Collins, won her a Peoples Choice Telly Award.

She won the Options Magazine Best Local Stand-Up Comic award in 2025 and 2026.

Doreen is currantly performing the Best of RI comedy cabaret, Aging Disgracefully, and is a content contributer, and Rhody Round-Up regular on The Rhode Show.
